Liz Taylor, the chief creative officer of FCB’s Chicago office, will leave the IPG agency after approximately two and a half years.
According to sources close to the matter, leadership announced the news in an all-agency meeting this morning.
“During her time at FCB Chicago, Liz elevated our creative work, played a key role in securing new business wins and was a constant champion of creativity across all disciplines at the agency,” FCB Chicago CEO and president Michael Fassnacht said in a statement. “We wish her all the best as she takes this bigger step in her career. A search for our next chief creative officer is already underway with some exciting prospects. We look forward to sharing news on this front soon.”
Fassnacht continued, “Susan Credle, FCB’s global chief creative officer, will be the acting interim chief creative officer, working closely with all creative leaders in Chicago. We are thrilled that she will be spending more time with us in Chicago in the coming months.”
Credle hired Taylor to succeed former CCO Todd Tilford in August 2016. Taylor had previously spent more than a decade at prominent Chicago-based agencies including Ogilvy, JWT, Element 79 and Tribal DDB. As Taylor explained in a subsequent Q&A with Adweek, hiring her was seen as part of Credle’s ongoing effort to unify FCB’s global offices while simultaneously improving the quality of its creative product and ensuring female and minority voices played a larger role in the conversations driving the agency’s work around the world.
Taylor’s destination remains unclear. She did not respond to messages sent to her social media account. Adweek’s sources indicated that she has accepted another, larger leadership role at a shop to be named later this month.
