As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise, Digitas has canceled its live, in-person NewFront presentation in favor of a virtual session.

The event is part of the Interactive Advertising Bureau’s 2020 NewFronts, slated to take place April 27-May 6 in New York. On Wednesday, the IAB arranged for companies to have the ability to livestream their presentations.

In an email to invitees, Digitas said it’s made the decision to create an “engaging and interactive digital experience” to put the health and safety of clients, employees and partners first.

“This year, we’re going digital to offer the innovation, thought leadership and community you’ve come to expect from our annual NewFront, in a way that’s unlike anything you’ve encountered before,” the email said. According to the agency, details of when and how attendees can participate will be made available in the coming weeks.

YouTube recently announced that Brandcast, its annual presentation for advertisers that is part of the NewFronts, will stream on its platform this year.
