McCann Customer Relationship Agency MRM Promotes Kate MacNevin to Global CEO

MRM//McCann, the customer relationship wing of the IPG network, announced the promotion of Kate MacNevin to the position of global CEO.

Exactly one year ago, MacNevin was promoted to the role of global president and COO, then the top position within MRM//McCann.

A 25-year industry veteran, she has spent the past 12 years at the McCann organization after joining Toronto operation MacLaren McCann in 2006 as general manager and lead on the General Motors Canada account.

The CEO position had been vacant since the early 2016 departure of Michael McLaren, which followed the loss of the Verizon Fios business to independent agency Rauxa. He later joined Merkle in the evp, executive global group director role.

McCann’s release credits MacNevin with leading a period of growth for its CRM network, stating that business has increased by 15 percent over the past year thanks to new business wins including Honeywell, Subway, Corning, L’Oréal, Crystal Cruises and Hitachi.

“Kate and I started closely working together when she became executive director of global operations for Commonwealth//McCann,” said McCann Worldgroup chairman and CEO Harris Diamond. “Throughout her career with us, she became renowned for her ability to stay focused on driving our client’s growth.”

Bill Kolb, McCann Worldgroup’s global president of diversified agencies, added, “Kate is a visionary, and I don’t use that word lightly. Under her watch, MRM//McCann has become an industry leader, and under her continued guidance it will no doubt continue to thrive.”

Beyond the aforementioned accounts, MRM//McCann’s clients include GSK, United States Postal Service and Cisco in addition to GM.
