Another week, another limited edition clothing line hitting the market courtesy of your favorite brands. This time around McDonald’s is teaming up with Sprite to kick off the fast-food chain’s “That’s the MIX,” campaign.
The clothing line celebrates the launch of MIX by Sprite Tropic Berry, a twist on the classic Sprite beverage that’s infused with pineapple, orange and strawberry flavors. The product rolls out exclusively in select McDonald’s locations beginning Friday, May 25.
“We’re mixing things up, so to speak. at McDonald’s with a new, exclusive drink. The flavor is craveable and delicious, and we know our customers will come back for more of this unique beverage once they try it,” Linda VanGosen, vp, menu innovation at McDonald’s, said in a statement.
To bring the collection and brand new Sprite beverages to life, McDonald’s and Sprite partnered with designer Joe Freshgoods to create an epic line of branded clothing. The collection includes a wool and leather variety-style jacket complete with a lot of patches, tees and socks.
This isn’t McDonald’s first time rolling out a clothing line to the public. In July 2017 the brand debuted the The McDelivery Collection, tied to Global Delivery Day. That collection included a Big Mac onesie, some Big Mac pillow cases, slide sandals and more. While that collection focused a bit more on the comfort side of things, the new line is just slightly more stylish for a burger-branded line of merch.
Fans and consumers can visit a handful of locations (more on those specifics here) in Atlanta, Chicago, L.A. and New York beginning at 2 p.m. local time on Friday for a chance to score a piece from the collection. The catch? If you want the merch, you’ll have to go to one of the participating locations and either buy a soft drink or enter your name into a raffle.
“That’s the MIX” also includes a Spotify takeover, which will also take place on Friday. McDonald’s will help launch an exclusive track and music video from rapper KYLE.
