Electrolux Major Appliances North America is shifting the duties for its U.S. media strategy, planning and buying to Zenith Media from Prometheus.

The Publicis Groupe shop won the business after a pitch that ran from April to June. It is unclear how many other agencies were in the pitch or if incumbent Prometheus defended the business. The appliance company has had relationships with Zenith in its global office in London and, since January, its Middle East office.

Electrolux markets a wide variety of appliances: refrigerators, stoves and microwave ovens  as well as air conditioners, dishwashers, washing machines and dryers.

Major media spending on those appliance brands exceeded $33 million last year, according to Kantar Media, up from 2012's $30 million spend.

"We are pleased to be given the opportunity to further develop our relationship with Electrolux," said Dave Penski, CEO of Zenith Media, in a statement.

The shift does not affect DDB's creative assignment, confirmed a spokeswoman for Electrolux, who declined to comment.
