Gulf Takes Customers Out to the Ballpark

For the fourth consecutive year, Gulf Oil is running a ticket giveaway sweepstakes in conjunction with Major League Baseball. With every fill-up, customers can enter to win choice seats at preselected Boston Red Sox, New York Mets or 2008 World Champion Philadelphia Phillies games this season.
There will be eight first-prize winners per team who will win two desirable seats at their team’s stadium—Red Sox Green Monster, Mets Field Level or Phillies Suite. In addition, Gulf will draw one grand-prize winner per team. The grand prize includes four tickets to a game plus a stadium tour; especially exciting for Mets fans looking to explore the new Citi Field stadium, according to the oil company.
“This longstanding relationship with Major League Baseball has been so successful that we have expanded the prizes so more customers can benefit,” Gulf Oil president and COO Ron Sabia stated. “We know people have many choices when buying gas, and we appreciate that our customers continue to choose Gulf. This program is one way we thank them for making Gulf the premier gasoline brand in the Northeast.”
Drivers may enter up to four times with four fill-ups, or receive an automatic entry every time they use their Gulf MasterCard to fill-up at Gulf. The sweepstakes runs through June 30. For complete details, go to
“We are fortunate to have developed relationships with three of the strongest Major League Baseball franchises in the league,” said Rick Dery, Gulf Oil’s CMO. “The Boston Red Sox and the Philadelphia Phillies have enjoyed World Series championships in recent years, and we have high hopes for the New York Mets. Such victories help to bring national attention to the iconic Gulf mark.”
Based in Newton, Mass., Gulf Oil is one of the Northeast’s largest wholesalers of refined petroleum products. Gulf Oil distributes motor fuels through a network of more than 2,400 Gulf-branded gasoline retail centers, 12 proprietary oil terminals and a network of more than 50 other supply terminals.
