Polaris’ $10 Mil. Account Leaves Midwest

CHICAGO Polaris has assigned Havas’ McKinney + Silver its $10 million advertising account after a drawn-out review, according to the company.

The Raleigh, N.C., agency will handle creative and media duties for the company’s all-terrain vehicles, motorcycles and snowmobiles.

“Polaris offers McKinney a great opportunity to broaden our portfolio of brands with high-performance recreational vehicles that are a lot of fun,” said agency CEO Brad Brinegar in a statement. “We are looking forward to taking this industry leader to an even higher level of performance in the marketplace.”

Contenders in the review were not disclosed. The Medina, Minn., company’s previous advertising agency was Omnicom Group’s Martin/Williams in Minneapolis. The shop resigned the account in March.

The Integer Group in Denver will continue to handle promotional advertising, while Weber Shandwick in Minneapolis will provide public relations support. Direct marketing duties will remain at independent agency Penn Garritano in Minneapolis.

Polaris spent nearly $10 million on advertising last year, according to Nielsen Monitor-Plus.
