Pollo Tropical Unifies Advertising At BSP in Miami

BSP Group, formerly Beber Silverstein & Partners, has been named agency of record for chicken restaurant Pollo Tropical.
The win unifies the account, which had been split between the Miami office of McCann-Erickson for creative and Jay Advertising in Tampa, Fla., for media.
McCann’s account defense was unsuccessful, as it attempted to pick up media duties as well. Cooper HMS in Coral Gables, Fla., also vied for the business, said a representative for the Miami client.
Billings for the chain’s 42 restaurants were not disclosed. Competitive Media Reporting cites 1998 ad spending at $1 million; $691,000 through October 1999. The Miami shop’s president, Jennifer Beber, said the 2000 budget has been increased. –T.W. Sieber
