Subway Plays Winter Sports With Toys, Print Campaign

NEW YORK — Subway Restaurants is celebrating the spirit of winter sports with a collection of action-oriented toys that will be included in its Kids’ Pak meals. The “Winter Sports Challenge” promotion will run at participating restaurants in the U.S. and Canada from Dec. 31 to Feb. 17, 2002.

Though not associated with the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, which begin in Salt Lake City on Feb. 3, the Subway collection includes such international sports items as a an ice skater watch, in which the figure twirls in graceful arcs with the push of a button; a downhill ski watch; a bobsled racer and an action hockey figure.

When all four toys are connected they form an extended winter sports action scene that can be set in motion with the push of a lever.

Print ads in local markets and POP materials support.
