Taking a kid to an amusement park typically isn’t all fun and games for the parents involved. Aside from hefty ticket prices, meltdowns are inevitable in an environment where overstimulation rules and junk food is ubiquitous.

Yet there’s a reason parents slog through the heat and long lines. Seeing your kid’s face light up at the sight of their favorite princess or character, or the excitement that comes with finally being tall enough to ride a particular ride, makes all the fuss worth it more times than not.

Disney is leaning into that sentiment in its latest spot, which shows a dad soaking up the last few minutes he has with his daughter before she heads off to college. As he sits on her bed while she packs her bags, he gets teary-eyed watching an old video clip on his phone of her as a child excitedly embracing Cinderella.

The spot was created by Mcgarrybowen Chicago in partnership with Yellow Shoes Creative Group, Disney’s internal agency.

“This spot powerfully demonstrates how a visit to Walt Disney World creates unforgettable experiences and cherished memories that last a lifetime,” said Jill Estorino, executive vice president of global marketing and sales for Disney parks, experiences and consumer products.

Mcgarrybowen Chicago and Yellow Shoes Creative Group also recently collaborated on a 90-second film that promotes Galaxy’s Edge, a Star Wars-themed land with locations at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland.
