The NFL and YouTube announced a renewal of their partnership, which includes the addition of three memorable games from each of the league’s 32 teams to the NFL YouTube channel prior to the kickoff of the 2016 season.
The NFL’s YouTube channel already offers content from NFL Media properties including game previews, in-game highlights, post-game recaps, news, analysis and fantasy football advice, and the league and the video site said game highlights will be updated to YouTube while games are in progress, and those clips will be easily found via Google search.
Google searches for specific NFL teams will display official video from the league, as well as news, information, kickoff time and broadcast information.
YouTube head of North America direct content partnerships Jonathan Zepp said in a release announcing the partnership renewal:
YouTube has always been the home for sports highlights on the internet, and we look forward to giving football fans around the globe access to even more of the content they love.
NFL senior vice president for media strategy, business development and sales Hans Schroeder added:
This expansion of our partnership will make it easier than ever for the millions of highly engaged avid and casual fans on YouTube and Google to discover and access an even greater variety of some of the most valuable content in the sports and entertainment business. Our fans continue to demonstrate an insatiable appetite for NFL digital video content online.
