All ads in Instagram Stories are going full-screen.
The Facebook-owned photo- and video-sharing network announced Thursday that when brands upload a photo or video (under 15 seconds) within its feed aspect ratios, it will automatically provide full-screen support for that photo or video within Instagram Stories.
Instagram said its pixel-matching technology will automatically select a background gradient to convert the ad into a full-screen format, adding that for square or landscape creative, text from the ad’s Instagram or Facebook feed will be added below it. Caption text will not show if the creative is taller than square.
Advertisers can also add destination links to their Instagram Stories via swipe-up capabilities.
