Agiesta has been conducting domestic and international survey research for the AP — covering everything from politics, economics, social issues to perspectives of NFL fans, Twitter users, and “those in the dating pool.” Before working at the AP, she spent three years as a polling analyst at The Washington Post.

“Her most sterling credential, however, may be that she comes with high praise from our colleague Keating Holland,” said Chalian in the memo. “CNN has always been among the most respected polls in the field.  We are thrilled that Jennifer is joining the CNN team to uphold that tradition while moving our opinion research into its next phase as we continue to fully integrate our digital and television political coverage into one unparalleled force.”

Agiesta, a graduate of Washington and Lee University and native of Long Island, is set to start at her new gig on Jan. 19
