Open Road Media announced today that it would be partnering with the eBook autographing service Autography at Bouchercon, a mystery Con that is being held in St. Louis this week. The author Jonathon King will be on hand to autograph copies of his books, and Mr. King will also be using Autography to sign free eBook copies of his Edgar Award Winning novel, The Blue Edge of Midnight, which is published by Open Road.
The Autography, which launched early this year, service is based on an iPad app. Using a capacitive stylus, the author can write a personal note on the iPad and then sign it. The autograph can be signed on any number of backgrounds, including a picture of the fan and the author. The fan has the option of reviving the autograph by email or buying an eBook that has the signature embedded.
If you cannot make it to this Con but would still like to get into eBook signing, check out the Autography website. You might also be interested in looking at KindleGraph, a competing web-based service. It recently got an update that added new features.
