Customer engagement platform Get Satisfaction believes that a recent shift in the conversation on social networks indicates that the second generation of social is here. In the “first generation,” brands were just learning how to interact and participate in the conversation surrounding their brands, but now it’s time for brands to take it up a notch and really start understanding their fans. To this end, Get Satisfaction has released an infographic revealing the four major consumer segments and why brands should know them.
The infographic is made up of stats from a study by The Incyte Group, identifying “four unique market segments that are most likely to look to customer communities when making personal decisions.” The infographic not only introduces each of these segments, but explains why they are important and how brands can leverage their social media strategy to nurture a relationship with them.
The four consumer segments revealed in the infographic include “Fashionista Professionals,” 25-34 year old female professionals; “Knights with Shiny iMacs,” 24-35 year old male professionals; “Web-Building Techies,” 21-24 year old men who are early adopters; and “Bargain-Hunting Mamas,” 35-44 year old mothers.
