DeNA and Hasbro have announced the development of Transformers: Battle Tactics, a turn-based tactical combat game for iOS and Android devices. In the game, players will collect characters from the Transformers universe, assembling teams of both Autobots and Decepticons, and taking them into battle against friends and other players around the world. The game looks to resemble another DeNA title, Super Battle Tactics.

The game’s battles are described as “swift,” with a graphical style inspired by the Transformers Generations Combiner Wars characters and comic book series. Each character will have their own unique stats and abilities, which change as players swap between their robot and alternate forms. In addition to a single-player campaign, players will be able to complete story-driven limited time events, as well as player-vs-player matches that pit them against others from around the world.
“Transformers: Battle Tactics blends fast action and strategic gameplay with a style Transformers fans of all generations will appreciate,” said Barry Dorf, vice president of partnerships and alliances at DeNA, in a statement. “From collecting new Transformers to creating mash-up teams of Autobots and Decepticons to battling against friends and fans around the world, players will have an epic amount of content to enjoy once the game ‘Rolls Out’ in 2015.”
