Did you know that the Facebook application allows you to set a daily time reminder that will notify you when you’ve spent a set amount of time in the app? Our guide will show you how this works.

Note: These screenshots were captured in the Facebook application on iOS. Also note that if you use the Facebook app long enough to trigger your set reminder on a particular day, the app won’t actually stop you from using it. You’ll simply be notified that you’ve used the app for the amount of time that you set.

Step 1: Tap the three horizontal lines in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

Step 2: Scroll down and tap “Settings & Privacy.”

Step 3: Tap “Your Time on Facebook.”

Step 4: Scroll down and tap “Set Daily Time Reminder.”

Step 5: Swipe up on the left and right wheels to set your desired reminder time. For example, if you want to be notified after you’ve used the Facebook app for an hour each day, set the wheels to “1 h” and “0 m.”

Step 6: Tap “Set Reminder” to activate the reminder.
