Did you know that in addition to sharing photos and videos to your Facebook Stories, you can also share text posts? Our guide will show you how this works.

Note: These screenshots were captured in the Facebook application on iOS.

Step 1: At the top of your Facebook News Feed, tap “Add” to begin creating a new Story post.

Step 2: Swipe from right to left at the bottom of the screen to move from the “Normal” mode into the “Text” mode. You’ll know you’re in “Text” mode when “What’s on your mind?” appears in the center of the screen.

Step 3: Tap “What’s on your mind?” to type your desired text.

Step 4 (optional): Tap one of the colorful circles underneath the text to change the post’s background color.

Step 5: Tap “Done” in the top-right corner of the screen when you’re done editing your text and background.

Step 6: At the bottom of the screen, tap either “Your Story” to instantly share the post to your Facebook Story, or “Next” to select how and where you’d like to share the post.
