Facebook Messenger: Here’s How to Mute and Unmute Someone’s Story

You can stop seeing posts from specific contacts

Have you ever wanted to stop seeing Story posts from a specific contact in the Facebook Messenger application? Our guide will show you how to mute their Story, so that their content will no longer appear at the top of the app. We’ll also show you how to unmute a user’s Story later on if you ever change your mind.

Note: These screenshots were captured in the Messenger app on iOS.

Mute Someone’s Story

Step 1: In the Story bar near the top of the screen, tap and hold on the profile picture of the user whose Story you wish to mute.
