Remember that business last month, via Porter magazine, wherein Martha Stewart opined that Gwyneth Paltrow “just needs to be quiet”? Well, Stewart may soon be exclaiming: “She just needs to stay out of the print magazine business!”
Per Keith J. Kelly’s report, the hiring by Paltrow of former Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia CEO-president Lisa Gersh (pictured) as Goop CEO could be a prelude to the actress expanding her website brand into that Stewart, Oprah USPS territory:
Gersh, 55, who worked at NBC before MSLO and co-founded Oxygen Media, hinted that part of her job at Goop would be to bring new products to market. But she did not say if any of those new products would be a magazine.
Moving into print would make Paltrow even more of a rival to Stewart.
Gersh left MSLO in 2013 after two years. At the Goop end, she replaces Sebastian Bishop.
