Social Pro Daily Here Are the Advertising, Media and PR Nominees for the 23rd Annual Webby Awards BBDO New York led the way with 23By David Cohen|April 2, 2019 The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences will name the winners Tuesday, April 23IADAS Share By David Cohen|April 2, 2019 Share The 23rd Annual Webby Awards will be presented Monday, May 13, at Cipriani Wall Street in New York, and the nominees for the advertising, media and public relations categories were revealed Tuesday morning. The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences will name the winners Tuesday, April 23, and actress and comedian Jenny Slate will host the ceremony, which begins at 7 p.m. ET May 13. People can follow along on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook for highlights, special moments and give-word speeches by the winners. The IADAS said it received some 13,000 entries from all 50 states and 70 countries, and fewer than 10 percent advanced to become nominees. All nominees are eligible for the two most prestigious awards: the Webby Award, chosen by the academy, and the Webby People’s Voice Award, for which voting is open here through Thursday, April 18 at 11:59 p.m. PT. BBDO New York led the way this year with 23 nominations, followed by McCann New York (14), Wieden + Kennedy (13), R/GA (12), TBWA\Media Arts Lab (11), Basic Agency (eight), Edelman (eight), Moxie Communications (eight) and MediaMonks (six). Judges for the 23rd Annual Webby Awards include GE chief marketing officer Linda Boff, DDB Worldwide CEO Wendy Clark, 360i president Abbey Klaassen, BBDO New York chief creative officer Greg Hahn, The Martin Agency CEO Kristen Cavallo, JPMorgan Chase CMO Kristin Lemkau, Droga5 founder and creative chairman David Droga and Wieden + Kennedy co-president Colleen Decourcy. The Webby Awards executive director Claire Graves said in a release disclosing the nominees, “Every year, we’re blown away by continued innovation within the advertising and media industry. This year’s nominees made some of the most inspiring campaigns we’ve seen so far—with creative approaches to tackle the global challenges, highlight technological progress around the world or simply to captivate the minds of consumers.
