Hillary Clinton Just Told Trump to Delete His Twitter Account, and Her Tweet Is Blowing Up

Quick social move pays off

Hillary Clinton must be feeling a new boost of confidence this afternoon after receiving a raving endorsement from President Barack Obama. In a bold and fast move, she called on Donald Trump to delete his Twitter account.

Not long after a video of Obama endorsing Clinton for president appeared on YouTube, Trump took to Twitter (as he often does) to blast both Democrats. He referred to his rival as "Crooked Hillary" and said no one wanted four more years of Obama.

Rather than sit on the sidelines, Clinton's digital team took a mere five minutes to retweet Trump's smack with a popular internet rebuttal: "Delete your account."

What could have been seen as risky and reckless is paying off. In less than an hour, Clinton's tweet was shared more than 110,000 times and garnered more than 110,000 likes, while "Delete your account" started trending on the platform.

That's a heck of a lot more retweets than Clinton normally gets. To put things in perspective, most of the candidate's tweets from the past few days only got a few thousand shares each. Even Clinton's tweet of Obama's endorsement video was shared just 6,000 times.

And how does it perform compared to Trump's initial shot? His tweet has been shared a mere 10,000 times, even though he has 2 million more followers than Clinton.

Here's a look at the video that sparked the exchange, posted to Clinton's YouTube channel:
