Instagram: Here’s How to Use Create Mode in Stories

You can share posts that don't contain photos or videos

Create gives you new ways to share content on Instagram Stories Instagram

Instagram added a Create mode to Instagram Stories, which allows you to share posts that don’t contain photos or videos. For instance, you can create a post with a colorful background that has nothing but text or a sticker on top. Our guide will show you how this Create mode works.

Note: These screenshots were captured in the Instagram application on iOS.

Step 1: On the Instagram Stories camera, swipe left or right at the bottom of the screen to move into “Create” mode. You want the word “Create” to be in the center of the screen, directly below the capture button.

Step 2: Create mode has multiple options to choose from, including “Templates,” “GIFs,” “Countdown” and more. Swipe left on the circles near the capture button to switch between these options.

Note: Certain options, like “Countdown” and “Poll,” use the Countdown and Poll stickers that are available elsewhere in Instagram Stories. Other modes, like GIFs and Templates, are new (while you can add GIFs to your normal Instagram Stories posts, the GIFs option in Create works differently).

Finally, for most options, you can tap the colorful circle in the bottom-right corner of the screen to change your post’s background color. Tap the circle multiple times to see all of the colors you can choose from.
