Google is marking International Small Business Day Thursday with its introduction of Google for Small Business.

The new Grow With Google initiative is aimed at giving small and midsized businesses access to the best tools and services from the search-engine giant to help them reach their goals.

The company said its search and advertising tools helped create some $335 billion in economic activity for millions of businesses, website publishers and nonprofits across the U.S. in 2018.

Google for Small Business offers personalized plans for SMBs after they enter their business names, answer some questions about their businesses and choose a goal.

Google product management director, small business ads Kim Spalding said in a blog post, “You’ll then receive a step-by-step plan of recommended products tailored for you. Google has products to help you stand out online, reach more customers and work more efficiently. The recommendations will include products to help with all three, but with a special focus on the goal that’s most important to you.”

SMB owners can also locate free Grow With Google workshops and stay updated on tools and services focused on SMBs.

Spalding wrote, “Small businesses make a big impact on our communities––creating jobs, treating customers like family and often defining what makes a town unique. Google is committed to helping these businesses use the power of the web to grow and thrive.” David Cohen is editor of Adweek's Social Pro Daily.
