Jackie Kucinich Joins The Daily Beast

John Avlon, Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Beast, announced on Monday that Jackie Kucinich, daughter of former Rep. Dennis Kucinich, will join the site as its new Senior Politics Editor.

Jackie is currently a politics reporter at the Washington Post, where she produces original video segments. She was originally hired to serve as co-anchor on the paper’s Web channel, PostTV.

“Jackie is a powerful, positive presence in D.C. circles. She’s covered Republicans in Congress and the 2012 presidential field, boasting an encyclopedic knowledge of all things politics,” said Avlon in a memo to staff. “She brings to the job a combination of enthusiasm and incisiveness that will help sharpen the voice of The Beast’s political coverage as we head into the 2016 presidential cycle — and boost our ability to break big news.”

Previously, Kucinich worked at USA Today and Roll Call. According to Avalon, She will work with Opinion Editor Will Rah at The Daily Beast to “anchor our D.C. team and ensure that The Beast remains non-partisan but not neutral in our politics.”

Good luck from FishbowlDC, Jackie!
