Kobo Launches German Language eReader

Kobo released a German language version of the Kobo Touch eReader. The eReader will be available at German retailers for €149 beginning on Oct 1, 2011. The company announced the device at IFA in Berlin this week.

The device will be supported by Kobo’s existing German-language eBookstores. Since the store launched in July, Kobo has expanded the library to more than 80,000 German language titles and a total of 2.5 million eBooks.

Michael Serbinis, CEO of Kobo, stated: “This announcement marks Kobo’s entry into the European market and an industry first.  In providing local content and reading experiences for European readers, Kobo continues to build on the vision of giving people around the world the freedom to read on any device, and share their love of reading with friends.”
