Nokia Beta Labs released a prototype photo browsing app…
Nokia Photo Browser updated – now available also for S60 3rd Edition FP1 and FP2
You can find and download it from Nokia…
Nokia Photo Browser
Although the title says it is for S60 3rd Edition FP1 and FP2 based devices, it really is designed for Nokia touch screen devices. If fact, although the N96 (a non-touch screen phone) is listed as a supported device, I received a warning that the app was incompatible with the phone when I installed it there. I also was given a warning that performance was not optimal on an N96. This was true during my testing. Photo scrolling (sort of like Coverflow on iPods and iPhones) was sluggish and difficult to control. The N96’s lack of touch screen limited the full app experience.
I hope Nokia doesn’t abandon its non-touch devices. One-handed phone control is a good thing to support.
