Do you recall how everyone says that Amazon sells the Kindle Fire at a loss so they can make it up on content sales? It looks like B&N has settled on the same strategy.
B&N has put the Nook Tablet on sale today. This is a new, not refurbished, tablet and you can get it on Ebay for only $200 (enter the code CNOOKDEAL to get the discount). Needless to say, that is a very good deal.
This is only the latest in a long string of Nook sales, and I have to wonder if this is good idea. I think people are getting used to the idea that it will go on sale regularly, so anyone who wants one will wait for the sale. This means that B&N might be discouraging sales for the regular retail price.
On the other hand, perhaps we should wait and see if B&N is turning a profit on Nook content before jumping to conclusions. This strategy might be working for them.
