Every wished you could get a picture with a Playboy bunny? Now’s your chance! An awesome new campaign from Bloomingdale’s, NBC and augmented reality app GoldRun lets you pose with virual characters from NBC’s new fall lineup, including The Playboy Club. When you take and share photos using the free GoldRun app you not only have something awesome to show your friends, but you could also win a trip to Los Angeles to visit the set of The Playboy Club or a trip to Chicago for a walk-on role in the actual show.
How does it work? According to a press release, “GoldRun uses geo-fencing and AR to bring the visually-driven, content rich experiences of the web into the offline world. By GBS-linking 2D and 3D virtual goods to physical locations, such as retail stores, airports and events, GoldRun enables users to locate, interact with and take pictures alongside virtual objects, and earn immediate real world rewards for every interaction.” In other words, when you stand in just the right spot and snap a picture of yourself you’ll appear to be standing next to real objects and celebs. It’s virtual reality photography at its finest!
The Bloomingdale’s and NBC campaign is called ‘Look the Part, Be the Part’. It launched today and runs through September 26, so you’ve got until then to head over to any of Bloomingdale’s 44 stores across the country and pose with virtual characters from NBC’s new fall lineup.
In addition to the launch of the ‘Look the Part, Be the Part’ campaign, the GoldRun app is also announcing some exciting updates, as they launch version 2.0.0. The new version includes a map view, compass and improved navigation to help you find augmented reality checkpoints around your city, a scoring system, object control and additional image sharing on Twitter, Tumblr and email.
But what are you doing still reading? Grab your phone, head to Bloomies and get your photo taken with a Playboy Bunny already!
