For the fourth consecutive year, Publishers Clearing House launched its “The Give Back” social media giving campaign as part of its relationship with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, but this time around, there’s a new twist: Rather than voting on which charities will receive charitable donations, St. Jude is guaranteed $150,000, and Facebook users who like the PCH page can add up to $50,000 to that total by playing games.
Starting Tuesday and running through Nov. 4, the more Facebook users who play games including Mahjongg Dimensions, Tri Peaks Solitaire and Sunken Treasures: Gems of Atlantis on PCH.com, PCHGames.com, PCHSearchandWin.com and PCHLotto.com and earn tokens, the more PCH will add to its donation to the hospital, up to an additional $50,000.
Players can also enter daily for the chance to win one of five chances at a $1,000 prize.
The PCH Prize Patrol will visit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Nov. 10, check in tow.
PCH executive vice president Deborah Holland said in a release announcing this year’s “The Give Back”:
Our founders established a heritage of charitable giving that continues 60 years after the company was established. Nearly one-half of our profits go to charities each year. For the past four years, our players have consistently encouraged support for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which is why we dedicated this year’s Give Back campaigns to their efforts exclusively. We are excited that we can harness our online and offline networks to help raise more awareness and ultimately more dollars for this important institution.
