From Magazine Shoots to Moroccan Underwear

We live in an era of dramatic career transitions. And today, you’ll be hard-pressed to read about a more dramatic such move from the media firmament than the one engineered by formerly Manhattan-based fashion photographer Randall Bachner.

Bachner relocated to Marrakech in the spring of 2013 and that fall, opened a clothing boutique called Marrakshi LIFE. Per The Daily Beast’s Liza Foreman, things are progressing nicely:

In December, Bachner did his first trunk shows in Paris and New York. His clients already include the odd billionaire. Their advice is helping him build his empire. The collection includes kimono capes and hand woven jump overalls. Prices are relatively inexpensive and come in at around 135 euros for a shirt or 35 euros for hand woven boxers.

In his first year and a half in business, Bachner – whose one-time media clients include W and T magazines – has already added women’s wear and home goods to the menswear. Read the rest of Foreman’s piece here.
