Quarterly research conducted by The Creative Group (TCG), a staffing company focused on the interactive and marketing areas, found that 25 percent of executives expect to add full-time staffers over the next three months. Five percent said they expect to let go of staff. The results are slightly better (by one point) than those reported last quarter.
Ten percent of respondents said they expect to hire in the PR field, the same as last quarter. Fourteen percent said they’d be looking to staff up in brand or product management, and 12 percent said they’d be looking for social media talent.
The study also found that 87 percent of marketing and ad execs are optimistic about the prospects for growth next quarter (this study was conducted before today’s announcement about the increased poverty level in this country) and 42 percent said it’s hard to find skilled help.
For The Creative Group Hiring Index for Marketing and Advertising Professionals, TCG interviewed 500 people — 375 marketing execs from companies with 100 or more employees, and 125 from ad execs from companies with 20 or more staffers — via telephone.
