David Richeson has been appointed SVP in Kaplow’s K:Drive digital media practice, overseeing the firm’s consumer tech business. He was previously at Porter Novelli where he lead the digital and global PR for the Gillette brand.
Waggener Edstrom has added three firms to its Global Alliance Network. Square Gold PR & Marketing and Brand Associates join the network in Kenya. And cabinet DNjoins the Network in Brussels. There are now a total of 26 affiliates serving 80 markets in WE’s Global Alliance Network.
Edelman’s Rebecca Slotnick has relocated to Shanghai where she’ll build the firm’s healthcare offering in China as senior director. She previously spent seven years in the agency’s New York office working in the health and corporate & public affairs practices. She was most recently working with global pharmaceutical companies on both internal and external relations.
Also, Edelman president and CEO Richard Edelman will be delivering the 50th Distinguished Lecture for the Institute for Public Relations. In addition, Bill Nielsen will receive the organization’s highest honor, the Alexander Hamilton Medal, for lifetime achievement in PR. The lecture will be given on November 10 in NYC. Tickets cost $400 per person.
Jamie French has been named VP of comms for The Style Network, NBCUniversal announced. This is a newly-created position. French will serve as the lead spokesperson for the network, handle business, consumer, and trade media outreach, manage corporate messaging, and work with others on the senior management team on issues related to the overall business of the network. He was previously senior director of publicity for NBC Entertainment Publicity, promoting the singing competition The Voice. He began as a page for the company in 1997.
