Skyhook Wireless Says: Less Than 10% of Location App Developers Porting to Symbian and Palm WebOS

Skyhook Wireless developed the first WiFi geographic position technology. They current market a product that uses information combined from WiFi, GPS and cell-tower triangulation to provide a software based geo-location system. If I had to guess, I would guess that the iPhone and iPod touch are the best known devices to use this technology.
Skyhook Wireless’s survey of developers building location aware apps indicates that…
Less than 10% of LBS Developers Will Port Apps to Palm & Symbian
For comparison, their report also notes that:
– 58% of non-Android developers plan to port their location aware software to Android
– 40% of non-iPhone developers plan to port their software to the iPhone
