Mobile developer Slice has announced the release of a tablet-optimized version of its shopping companion app Slice on Google Play. It’s the company’s first tablet-optimized application, and features an updated user interface and other features that take advantage of a tablet’s larger screen.

The Slice app allows users to keep track of all of the purchases they make online in a single place. Users can track their packages as they’re shipped and delivered, receive price alerts when items go on sale, and even keep track of item recalls, thanks to an update the platform received in October.

On tablet, the Slice app offers an oversized map for package tracking, large images of purchases in a catalog view, and push notifications that keep users up-to-date on package shipment details.

This release is a good move for Slice, as a recent survey from Adroit Digital showed a significant adoption of mobile shopping habits leading into the holiday season. Its survey found 31 percent of respondents ages 18-24 and 25 percent of respondents ages 25-34 will do at least half of their holiday shopping this year from a tablet or smartphone.

“Tablets have become an integral part of our shopping experiences, from browsing to purchasing and beyond,” said Scott Brady, CEO of Slice, in a company release. “With our tablet app, we’re making it incredibly easy to keep track of what you buy across devices, and maintaining the simplicity and ease that users have told us they love about our smartphone and desktop apps.”

Slice has processed more than 100 million items with a total purchase value of $3.2 billion. The app is now available to download for free on the Google Play store for Android tablets, while iOS and Android phone apps are already available.
