Don Cornelius, the man who created Soul Train and hosted it for years, is dead at 75 according to the LA Times. A family member discovered his body this morning in his Encino home with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Cornelius had recently gone through a divorce.
Cornelius founded Soul Train in 1971 and hosted until 1993, but kept the show running all the way up to 2006–the longest running nationally syndicated show in TV history.
