So you think you’re a fast tweeter?
Yeah, yeah. We’ve heard it all before. And while you probably think that your two-thumb high-speed Twitter typing method is setting all sorts of records, the proof, as they say, is very much in the pudding.
Or rather, the typing. Thankfully, help is at hand, courtesy of Tweetype, a nifty online game where you quickly retype tweets and compete with friends.
It’s not as easy as it looks. Tweetype rates your performance based on speed (in words per minute) and overall accuracy, but re-typing a tweet isn’t as easy as making one up on the fly. As fast as you think you are, you’re going to need to practice.
Developed by Sean McBride, the game includes a handy tutorial and has already unearthed one surprise usage case.
“I never anticipated non-native speakers would practice typing English with Tweetype,” says McBride. “But it’s happening in Japan.”
