LinkedIn Learning vice president of product management Hari Srinivasan said in a blog post that people watched 1.7 million hours of content on LinkedIn Learning during the first week of April, compared with 560,000 hours during the first week of January.
He added that membership in LinkedIn Learning groups was up 130% in March versus February.
LinkedIn Learning will begin focusing on one skill that is trending each week and provide free access to related courses, and Srinivasan said this week’s topic is “Managing Through Difficulty,” so members have free access through the end of June to How to Manage Feeling Overwhelmed, Managing Stress for Positive Change and Coaching Employees Through Difficult Situations.
He wrote, “What people are learning is evolving. In early March, courses on ‘working from home’ surged as both employees and managers looked for advice on how to navigate the challenges of remote work. More recently, soft skills that can help people survive, and even thrive, are now trending. For example, in the past two weeks, interest in courses on mindfulness and stress management has surged, as has interest in courses on resilience. As we’ve witnessed this evolution, we’ve made related courses available for free.
