YouTube Announces YouTube VR App for Daydream View Headset

The app allows users to watch every YouTube video in a virtual reality experience.

YouTube announced the release of the YouTube VR application for the Daydream View virtual reality headset. The app allows users to watch every YouTube video in a VR experience.

Specifically, the YouTube VR app is available to users who have devices that support the Daydream View, such as the Google Pixel. With the YouTube VR app, users can not only watch 360-degree videos, but they can also watch every normal YouTube video on a virtual movie screen in the app’s theater mode.

The app allows users to sign into their YouTube accounts to browse the channels they’re subscribed to, view their playlists and more. The app also supports voice search.

While the YouTube VR app is currently only available for the Daydream View headset, in an email to SocialTimes, a YouTube spokesperson confirmed that the app will be released on additional platforms in the future.
