NBC’s Meet the Press with Chuck Todd was the top-rated Sunday public affairs program in total viewers on September 27. Sunday’s program kicked off the 2015-16 season with exclusive interviews with presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Carly Fiorina.

MTP has now beaten ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos in total viewers for 10 straight weeks. However, ABC’s This Week won the key A25-54 demo, its first week one victory for the first time in seven years. This Week has now won the demo for five straight weeks.

CBS’ Face the Nation with John Dickerson finished second in viewers but third in the demo. FTN featured the first interview with Speaker of the House John Boehner following his retirement announcement. Presidential candidates Bernie Sanders and John Kasich also joined FTN, which was moved to CBS’s independent station in New York City, WLNY, due to coverage of the annual Tunnel to Towers 5K run on WCBS.

MTP delivered an additional 1.23 million total viewers and 493,000 A25-54 viewers with rebroadcasts on NBC and MSNBC. Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace combined with cable replays for 2.4  million viewers. Replays on FNC averaged a combined 1.09 million total viewers and 220,000 in the demo.

Face the Nation is based on the first half-hour only, as the full contiguous hour aired in just 57.4% of the country.
